Local parties As recently once the 1970s, women’s history had been practically an unknown subject within the K-12 curriculum or perhaps in basic general public awareness. To handle this example, the training Task Force of this Sonoma County (California) Commission regarding the Status of Women initiated a “Women’s History Week” party for 1978.
The week March 8th, Overseas Women’s Day, was selected because the center point for the observance. The Women’s that is local History activities came across with enthusiastic reaction, and lots of schools prepared special programs for Women’s History Week.
