Geraint Thomas, Simon Yates and Adam Yates on Great Britain UCI Road World Championships longlist

Geraint Thomas, Simon Yates and Adam Yates are included in Yorkshire this Season.

Thomas, winner of this 2018 Tour de France, has set his sights on racing the men’s elite time trial in 3 weeks’ time but is also part of the 15-strong longlist for the elite men’s race, from which six names will be chosen.
The Yates twins raced at the Tour de France, together with Simon collecting two stage wins for Mitchelton-Scott, however he isn’t defending his Vuelta a Espana title this month and twin has competed since the Clasica San Sebastian in August.
The longlist comprises Thomas’ Ineos team-mates Luke Rowe, Owain Doull, Chris Lawless, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Ian Stannard and reigning national champion Ben Swift, together with the latter regarded as a possible team leader at the road race.
The list includes Adam Blythe, Hugh Carthy, Gabz Cullaigh, Alex Dowsett, Matthew Holmes, along with Connor Swift.
Dowsett, thomas and Hart are recorded for your men’s time trial to be chosen.
With all the race because of pass by her home town of Otley world champion Lizzie Deignan headlines that a 13-strong longlist for the women’s race, even From the ranks of the women.
Reigning national champion Alice Barnes is listed alongside her sister Hannah, in Addition to Lizzy Banks, Dani Christmas, Rebecca Durrell, Natalie Grinczer, Anna Henderson, Lizzie Holden, Nikki Juniper, Hayley Simmonds, Sophie Wright and teenage star Pfeiffer Georgi.
Six riders will be selected from the list of hopefuls.
The two Barnes sisters, Simmonds, Holden and Georgi are longlisted for the women’s time trial, with two to participate.
The world championships take place from September 22 to September 29.
