Home and School

The Home and School Association is a great way to contribute to the school, working with the Board of Trustees and teaching staff to ensure our children receive the best possible education. It is also a lot of fun and provides an opportunity to work and socialise with a committed group of school parents.

We encourage parents and caregivers to be involved with Home and School activities at any level they feel able to. There are many opportunities to be involved. Help is required to ensure the various social events and activities organised by the Home and School Association run smoothly and are successful. The old adage that ‘many hands make light work’ certainly applies! During the year we endeavour to hold events which provide social opportunities for our school families and we also organise fundraising activities to improve the school environment.

OUR MEETINGS

Our meetings are held in the staffroom, 7:00pm, generally on the second Monday of the month.

Parents and Whanau are welcome to come along to our meetings anytime. Meeting dates, news and events are printed in the weekly school newsletter.

HOME AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE

Thank you to all who have contributed and supported us, as without you, we couldn’t have achieved all that we have

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Offering to help before events is so valuable. It really is a case of ‘many hands make light work’. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you can’t come into school, there are always little jobs that can be done from home. We often need a range of skills, from muscle power to brain power so any level of support is appreciated.

The best way to keep up to date with our activities is to ‘Like’ the Woodleigh Home & School facebook page. This is where the committee promotes school fundraising activities and opportunities to help.
