Giants lover was shown by rookie quarterback Daniel Jones why they need to be excited for the future along with his introduction in Tampa Bay on Sunday.
It was 1 game. But together with his four-total-touchdown afternoon that ended with 32-31 triumph and an epic comeback, than newcomer Eli Manning had in quite some time, the former Duke Blue Devil revealed a bit of everything, and much more excitement.
He ran for two scores, and passed two more. He also helped his team battle back from 18 points down at half-time – . He rejuvenated the crime and managed to keep the team concentrated despite dropping star running back Saquon Barkley to an injury.
Jones came however, it wasn’t a given his initial start would win on the NFL world only quite as it did.
Prior to Jones even stepped in the field from the NFL, he had experienced criticism and the praise you’d anticipate a starting quarterback for.
Jones’ name was rarely mentioned on top of mocks. His NFL.com draft profile stated he had been”more of a single day two draft selection than one”.
Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman had other ideas, spending the sixth overall pick to a player who wasn’t considered perfect as we would anticipate from a first-round selection, let alone a quarterback.
His choice has been met with criticism. It was a’reach’ and also an ill-advised pick when the team could have transferred back or perhaps used their 17th selection about the 22-year-old, so the analysts stated.

The three-year strategy was thrown out the window after two straight losses to start this year. Enough was enough, a week and Manning was ultimately axed.
It was only one game, but Jones has already shown exactly what the Giants were lost by sticking with Manning for so long – and now Gettleman must feel justified. It doesn’t matter where you pick on a quarterback – they had been worthwhile, if they prove to be the franchise’s face.
Since the seas parted with only one minute and 21 minutes left in Tampa Bay on fourth-and-five, Jones used his legs to race with a drama Manning probably couldn’t make through the defense for its score.
Jones is by no way to make a career but the element of an expected scramble was something the Buccaneers D was not prepared for.
His arm was still fantastic, although it was won by his legs. The 336 passing yards came on 36 efforts out of 23 completions. He pitched two touchdowns while two came on the floor. The ball moved when it mattered!
